Bhante Rewatha Thero will be visiting Singapore and Malaysia from 1st to 24th of December (2015) to deliver Mindfulness workshops and training courses to various community groups, companies and charities in these countries.

Below are the details of the workshops he will be delivering and if you would like to know more information about the venues and dates please do get in touch with us and we would be happy to share with you his teaching diary for the month of December.

 

Courses Available

We offer a range of courses to help people develop their own mindfulness practice and help manage their stress, anxiety, negative thoughts and difficult moments in their everyday lives:

Taster session (1hr)

You will get a chance to experience some relaxing mindfulness meditations and gain a better understanding of the benefits of developing your own mindfulness practice.

Introduction to Mindfulness (2hrs)

You will learn both the traditional Buddhist mindfulness practices as well as the modern mindfulness approaches. You will get the opportunity to experience the different mindfulness techniques including mindfulness of breathing meditation, body scan, breathing space and mindful movement.

Mindfulness in the Workplace (2hrs)

You will learn how to manage your stress and difficult emotions through a variety of mindfulness meditation practices. You will also have the opportunity to practice these techniques and speak about how you might use them in the workplace for your benefit.

Introduction to Vipassana Meditation (2hrs)

You will have the opportunity to learn how to observe your thoughts and emotions as they rise, continue and fade away, and to train the mind to observe the nature of things in a balanced way; a ‘para-sympathetic’ reaction to everyday phenomena.  Vipassana teaches practitioners to observe everyday phenomena as they are the true nature of everything; in other words things are the way they are.  

Introduction to 8 week MBSR and MBCT courses (2hrs/1 day workshop)

You will learn about the modern mindfulness approaches such as the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course and the 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course for depression. These courses were taught and designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the stress reduction clinic at the University of Massachusetts and research has shown they are extremely effective for managing difficult emotions. MBCT was created by, and is taught at Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

Day Retreat (1 day workshop)

You will have the opportunity to practice the different mindfulness techniques and have time to explore what works well for you and to start developing your own practice. This day also includes a small period of silence which will allows you to really deepen your practice and experience the powerful benefits of a mindfulness practice and experience the feelings of overall well-being.
